What is CEREC?

CEREC is a technology for restoring damaged teeth in a single visit without having to make unpleasant impressions or having to come back for multiple visits. CEREC's 3D camera scans the prepared tooth and the restoration is milled out of a solid ceramic tooth colored material in just a few minutes. It is ready to be bonded to the tooth immediately which eliminates the need for temporary fillings or crowns and you do not have to wait weeks for the restoration to be completed. The CEREC material is a metal-free, high-grade ceramic that is stronger than your enamel and is matched to your exact tooth shade, making your teeth stronger and more beautiful, all while looking natural.

The CEREC Process

During your appointment, Dr. Stuart will discuss the details of the procedure and  answer any questions you may have. After preparing the tooth, Dr. Stuart will use a 3D imaging camera to take a photo of the tooth. Using CEREC's state of the art software, your restoration is designed right before your eyes. No impressions, no temporaries, no second appointment. Our CEREC milling machine is similar to a 3D printer. After the photos are uploaded, the milling machine creates your restoration out of a high-grade block of ceramic that matches the exact shade of your tooth, no unsightly metal! Finally, Dr. Stuart will bond the beautiful tooth colored ceramic restoration to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Why Choose CEREC?

There are many advantages of using CEREC over traditional crown technology.

Time: CEREC crowns are made in one visit, saving you considerable time away from your job and family.

Comfort: With CEREC, there is no need for a temporary crown, eliminating significant potential discomfort.

Aesthetics: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of CEREC restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function, and closely match the composition of your natural tooth structure.

Strength: Milled ceramic is stronger than the traditional method of layering and pressing, so your smile will stay beautiful for years!

Fillings: CEREC material and technology can also be used for fillings. Since these fillings are made out of porcelain, they are more durable than white composite fillings.
